To Anyone Who Still Thinks Hillary Can Win...

Wake up and smell the numbers. Based on current polling stats (and yes, I know these can change), Chris Bowers does some Ultimate Delegate Math. It's well worth the read. Basically, Bowers summarizes the 5 most likely scenarios going forward - including seating the FLA and MI delegates - and crunches the numbers...and they still don't look good for the former First Lady of Bosnian Sniper Fire (more on that later).

Those are some pretty big bullets to dodge, even for someone who claims to have dodged sniper fire in Bosnia. Turns out....ehhhh....not so much. From a speech she gave just this week:

"I remember landing under sniper fire. There was supposed to be some kind of a greeting ceremony at the airport, but instead we just ran with our heads down to get into the vehicles to get to our base."

--Hillary Clinton, speech at George Washington University, March 17, 2008.

Her travelling companions on this harrowing trip to hell? Sinbad, Sheryl Crow, and a 15 year old Chelsea Clinton. Sinbad himself has stated that the scariest part of the trip was deciding "where to eat". Michael Dobbs at the Washington Post does the rest of the fact-checking. And here's the video evidence of Clinton's Rambo-esque escape to the base on her arrival. Ready on Day One.

There is something more ominous here than Baron Munchausen style stortelling...what does it say about Hillary's judgement when she chooses to take Sindbad to augment her diplomatic efforts abroad? Sinbad??? This was around the same time he was making such classics as "First Kid" and "Jingle All the Way." And what does it mean when people take Sinbad to be a more credible historical witness than a presidential candidate? Her campaign has some problems.

Well, I doubt she personally chose Sinbad (although it does seem the kind of sleep-deprived decision one might make at 3am).

More likely he and Crow were already booked through the USO, and hitched a ride on the same plane. In any case, this malarky about ducking out of sniper fire is rich. The only danger Hillary faced on that trip was having to listen to Sinbad's stand-up routine all the way to Bosnia.

"Now that is what happened."

i.e. "Please ignore the video of the welcoming ceremony where I'm seen chatting it up with the cute little eight year old girl".

Heh.

I disagree. She was also in danger of Sheryl Crow breaking out into that reprehensible "All I Wanna Do" single that was so popular at the time.

I think that song induced vomitting in me more than once at AJ's, and that wasn't just from the purple jesus.

Yes, as opposed to the softball campaign with no mudslinging that the Repugs have in store for Hillary?

Anon @ 1:56 - In trying to decipher that mess of verbal diarrhea you deposited above, I can say that I agree with you on only one point: namely that "the right" will definitely be waiting with dirt for Obama.

Is there any doubt that he will be swiftboated with cries of Hussein, Muslim, terrorist, unpatriotic etc.? The NeoCons and their ilk are a bunch of morally bankrupt mudslingers, and the fact that you are somehow taking pride in that fact exposes you as an equally reprehensible thug.

I stand corrected! If the poor woman was subjected to the dual torture of Sinbad and Crow for an 8 hour flight, she might have wished for snipers to take her out on arrival!

Ah, you've gotta love those "Anonymous" commenters, don't you? Always good for a little comic relief if nothing else. Lots of angry right winguts out there...

RT - It wouldn't be so bad if they could just string together a few coherent sentences, instead of their usual rambling screeds.

Bur perhaps I set my Nonny-tard bar a bit to high...

By the by, best wishes for your upcoming surgery...and here's to a quick recovery!

I wonder if they're that incoherent all the time, or just when they get wound up on the Internet...

Thanks by the way. Still got a fairly long road ahead. About five weeks or so. It's can't come soon enough.

New York Giants
Main article: 2011 New York Giants season

With a 9–7 record during the regular season, the Giants returned to the playoffs for the first time since 2008, when they won the NFC East and finished the season as the NFC's No. 4 seed. The Giants entered their week 17 match up with the Cowboys with both teams tied for the division lead with 8–7 records. The Giants took a 21–0 first half lead and while the Cowboys closed the gap to make the score 21–14 early in the 4th quarter, the Giants held on to defeat the Cowboys 31–14, clinching the divisional title and a playoff berth. Then they advanced to the playoffs by defeating the Atlanta Falcons in the Wild Card game 24–2, then they defeated the teams with the two best records in the NFL, knocking off the 15–1 Green Bay Packers 37–20 and the 13–3 San Francisco 49ers 20–17 on Lawrence Tynes's game winning field goal in overtime.
