What a Rush

First off, apologies for my absence the past few weeks. Work was especially busy, and had to take priority over blogging. Anyhoo, I'm back.

I've noticed some of our conservative blogging colleagues high-fiving each other over Rush Limbaugh's 20th anniversary as a conservative syndicated radio host. Let's look back at some of Rush's greatest moments.

"Have you ever noticed how all composite pictures of wanted criminals resemble Jesse Jackson?"

"The
NAACP should have riot rehearsal. They should get a liquor store and practice robberies."

"This is no different than what happens at the Skull and Bones initiation, and we're going to ruin people's lives over it, and we're going to hamper our military effort, and then we are going to really hammer them because they had a good time." - On the Abu Ghraib Prison Abuse Scandal (3 May 2004)

"He is exaggerating the effects of the disease. He's moving all around and shaking and it's purely an act... This is really shameless of Michael J Fox. Either he didn't take his medication or he's acting." - About Fox's Parkinson's Disease, referring to his appearance in Missouri Democratic Senate candidate Claire McCaskill's political ad (23 October 2006)

"I am addicted to prescription pain medication."

Happy 20th, douchebag.

Perhaps you should blog on Dr. Roy and ask him which one of these statements Dr. Roy approves of....he's drooling over Rush on his recent bloggings....excited that the Bush family have called in to Rush.

These right wingers are such suckers. I watched The View one day (I do once in a while) and Joy Behar used to work with Rush at the radio station years ago. She said Rush does this just to get the right going.....it makes money for him. He's a phony and will do anything for the $$$$$'s.

They are such naive sheep aren't they?

It seems that being loud, ignorant, and obnoxious is a prerequisite to success as an America political "media personality". I wish Rush was an isolated case, but clearly he is not. Its quite depressing.

Sandi - I'm quite certain the good doctor approves of everything Rush says and does. And if it wasn't for the scourge of "Teh Gays", poor Limbaugh wouldn't have been driven to OxyContin.

You watch the View? [shudder] :)

MD - As Sandi alluded to, these guys are many things, but naive isn't one of them. They have a market, and they know how to play to it. While they are undoubdetly right-wing and relatively narrow-minded, they are well aware of the fact that the more outlandish they appear, the more attention they get and the more $ they make.

Don't misunderstand - I only periodically watch The View when they have hot topics. If it gets silly I turn it off. I am not a frequent viewer by any means - I just caught it one day when they were discussing Limbaugh.

Why was Don Imus fired when Limbaugh does what he does? Also Mike Savage...how does he get away with it?
