I've begun counting certain words she uses repetitively, just so I can bear watching and hearing her interviews.
For instance, "world" "also" "and I think"
There's another video on the CBS site where she rambled on about something. I literally said to myself at the end....WTF was she saying?
What?
Carrie - She's hopelessly tied to her talking points, and gets so messed up when she's asked a question that doesn't conform to them. The accent doesn't lend any credibility either.
I've watched a few of these videos, and they've all left me scratching my head.
And weeping.
KNB - Nice to "see" you again! I've been less than diligent about commenting on your blog, but I do read it regularly, and your posts have been superlative of late!
As to Palin...it's horrifying to think that she is a heartbeat away from the Presidency. In a way,I feel sorry for her. She is in way, way over her head and she's visibly struggling to maintain political credibility.
surprise surprise, duuuh ur scraching your head, not surprising coming from a kool aid drinker...maybe if you would listen instead of attacking?
OMG. That was horrifying. I felt embarrassed for her. She's going to get decimated in the debate, and is going to look like a fool, even if they coach her. There's simply no way she'll be ready and confident enough to make sense, in time.
She's clearly memorized so many talking points, that they've run together.
Anon - Perhaps as an illiterate, you share some special bond with Palin. The rest of us would welcome your translation of her idiotic mumbo-jumbo into English. So please, explain to us, what exactly was Palin trying to say about the bailout?
Saskboy - The McOld campaign has already been musing about delaying the VP debate. I think even they can see the writing on the wall...
If memory serves, the VP debate is currently scheduled for the same night as our English language leaders debate. It will be interesting to see which gets higher ratings here in Canada.
No wonder the Republicans don't seem too eager to participate in the Presidential or VP debates anymore.
Not that I'm going to be watching tonight anyway. I'm back in K-Town for my 10 year reunion from law school. I'll let you know if the BK is still there.
I noticed how she drops the "g" regularly from words too...nothin, somethin, etc.
Apparently, she pronounces nuclear (nuclior) just like Bush too.
Bowler - Ha! That's terrific! I was just reading an article in the Globe online (in the GlobeCampus section, whatever that is) about K-townies being totally fed up with Homecoming, and musing about very stiff sentences and university expulsions for public drunkenness and noise violations. Ahh,we had some good times, didn't we? Anyways, say hi to the old town for me. And if the BK is still there, make sure to throw some pickles at the windows, you dry-heavin' bastard!!
Sandi - I believe the correct redneck pronunciation is NU-kew-ler. :)
I am embarrassed as an American citizen, a woman, and a human being.
Megan - I feel your pain.
I saw the street party on Aberdeen on Saturday night first hand. Believe me when I say there was nothing like that when we were there. I can see why the locals are so upset. But that's a discussion for another time and place.
As for Palin, I am lookin' forward to the debate with Bi-den.
