Ricardo Montalban R.I.P.

Today came the sad news that Ricardo Montalban has died. The 88 year old actor was best known for his roles as Mr. Roarke on Fantasy Island, and of course Khan on Star Trek. According to the LA Times, Montalban succumbed to "complications related to old age", which strikes me as rather curious phraseology. In any case, here for your viewing pleasure, are some of his timeless performances.

"I have much more in this small Chrysler..."

LOL. Small? How times have changed.

Anyway, thanks for posting those. They were fun.

"corinthian leather" - mudfortunately his name will be forever associated with that phrase...

Bowler - The irony is that "Corinthian leather" doesn't even exist. It was a marketing term used by Chrysler in the mid 70's to describe leather made at a plant in Newark New Jersey.

I guess "soft New Jersey leather" doesn't sound as good.

The Cordoba was a small car. In 1975. Check out the aircraft carrier Farrah Fawcett was driving...

Good clips. Its really the villain that makes the movie...that's why Wrath of Khan was so great. (And of course Christopher Plummer was the other great Star Trek villain).
