WOW. The Stupid, It Burns...

Please watch this nightmarish video of Sarah Palin being interviewed by Katie Couric.

In fairness to the DOS-based Palinbot, there is no actual answer to Couric's question. McCain has been a shameless deregulator his whole career. But we'll eagerly wait for the hockey mom to research even one single example of McOld's "maverickness". Good grief.

I would laugh if there weren't actually voters in the US who will react favourably to that. "She's one of us" and all that tripe, you know.

Wonkette has more clips from the interview, and the rest of it seems to be even more painful to watch.

On the bright side, "I'll try to find you some" is a marginally more honest answer than "In what respect, Charlie?"

Bowler - Yes. Phony populism is alive and well. To paraphrase Bill Maher, she's being confronted with complex issues and she's not a complex thinker. If you think the US economic crisis couldn't be any worse, imagine what it would have been like with Palin at the helm.

MD - As I alluded to in my post, it was a bit of an unfair question, since McCain really has ZERO credibility on the issue of tighter market regulation. In a sense, admitting she'd have to "look it up" was probably the most honest answer Palin (or anyone else for that matter) could have given.
