RoboGOP: McCain's New Smear Tactic

So while Grampy McSame was busy telling Bob Schieffer, Barack Obama and millions of Americans that he doesn't really care about an "old washed-up terrorist", his campaign started autodialing said Americans with the following automated message:
Hello. I'm calling for John McCain and the RNC because you need to know that Barack Obama has worked closely with domestic terrorist Bill Ayers, whose organization bombed the U.S. capitol, the Pentagon, a judge's home and killed Americans. And Democrats will enact an extreme leftist agenda if they take control of Washington. Barack Obama and his Democratic allies lack the judgment to lead our country. This call was paid for by McCain-Palin 2008 and the Republican National Committee at 202-863-8500.
Charming, no? It combines the dickishness of character assassination with the douchebaggery of telemarketing. A winning combination for sure!

Do they have a no-call list in the US? I think these robo-calls, whatever they are selling, just annoy most people anyway

Bowler - They do have a no-call list in the US, but I'm not sure of the details. Here in Canada, political parties/candidates are exempt from the no-call list.

I still don't think we've seen the full depth of Republican swiftboating yet, although we're getting close. With that plus the Bradley effect, this will be a lot closer election than people think.

MD - What about the reverse Bradley effect?

The reverse Bradley effect has really only been observed in the deep south. The only Southern state which I think will go Dem is Virginia, on account of northern Virginia becoming demographically more like suburban Washington DC.
So while it may occur, it is unikely to change many Electoral College votes.

The Bradley effect will be important in swing states like Ohio and Florida. Florida is too close to call. I think it will depend on whether the Bradley effect among white voters is countered by higher voter turnout among black voters.

I actually don't think Obama will win by the "Kerry formula" of taking Blue states plus 2 of Ohio, Florida, Penn. (He lost because he only got 1 of the 3). Obama may well lose both Ohio and Florida as well, but his win will come in other breakthrough areas, like Colorado.

Canada is a North American country consisting of ten provinces and three territories. Located in the northern part of the continent, it extends from the Atlantic Ocean in the east to the Pacific Ocean in the west, and northward into the Arctic Ocean. Spanning over 9.9 million square kilometres, Canada is the world's second-largest country by total area, and its common border with the United States is the longest land border in the world.
