Okaaaay....

I'm all for modern art, but this is just weird.
After Yves Klein’s exhibition at the Iris Clert gallery in 1958, the empty space became a recurrent artistic theme. This chronological exhibition brings together reconstructions of nine empty exhibitions, from Art & Language in 1966 to Roman Ondák en 2006.
Cost of entry to wander around and, um, "view" the empty galleries? 12 Euros (about $20 CAD).
Chacun son goût, I suppose.

Hmmm....I went to the Toronto Art Gallery years ago (my girlfriend has some work on display) and there was a painting - the canvas was totally black and call "Night".

Sandi - In general, I'm a great fan of modern art. I recently went to an exhibit at the Vancouver Art Gallery called "How soon is now?", featuring modern artwork from local artists. Some of the pieces were quite cool, but I must admit that others left me scratching my head (perhaps that was the goal?). In any case, I think I would have to draw the line at shelling out 20 bucks to stare at empty walls. A part of me would feel violated. :)

Heh. My living room is a modern art masterpiece. Empty walls and plastic toys scattered all over the floor.
